Did you know?
Like most of the central U.S., Chicago has been hit with snow and an arctic blast of cold weather. The bulk of the delays happened last week and Chicago is running again stronger than ever despite some truck issues from the cold weather.
There are no chassis shortages or long wait times at any railhead location in the Chicago region and everything is moving smoothly.
One of the interesting things about Chicago is with the city being so centralized, they service containers passing through from all areas of the U.S. and Canada as they host the BNSF, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, CSX, IAIS, Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific Railroads. The map below shows each hub location – CN Joliet, UP Global IV JIT G4 and BNSF Logistics Park are further on the outskirts than the more centralized locations, which creates additional miles for truckers. Our resident Chicago expert Danny is well versed in the locations of each terminal and is available any time to discuss the ins and outs of the Chicago rail.
