Cargo Emergency? We’re on it! Featured Image

It was 2:30 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon. One of our favorite customers called with a problem: the line will be going down and she needed cargo moved ASAP.

Our crisis management team stepped in

What about pulling on Friday and delivering on Monday? It wasn’t an option. The cargo needed to go from the Port of Savannah to Central Illinois by Friday.

Tyler immediately dispatched our drayage driver who picked up the cargo in the nick of time. Tyler worked with the warehouse to coordinate overtime labor.

In the meantime, Shane booked an over-the-road team out of Jacksonville 2.5 hours away. They arrived at the warehouse at about 6:45 p.m. We immediately trans-loaded the shipment from the 40’ container into a 53’ dry van. The team drivers hit the road at 8 p.m. on their 808 mile journey to the destination.

Down to the wire

With every stakeholder of the supply chain watching the shipment tracker on Turvo, we felt the heat.

Did we make it on time? You bet. The line never went down and stakeholders had 100% visibility without the need for copious emails and phone calls.

What if this happens to you?
